We started @ this Mexican place that had amazing margaritas. They are definitely much better than Ceasars, where I only feel nautious afterward and don't want to go out after the drink. We then headed to one of the gay bars in the area for a drink. It was my first time in a gay bar and it was so much fun! But then you realize not one person is interested in you and it's kind of a feeling of "well, this is fun and probably a place I want to go if I'm not really looking for a guy". However, as Aimee and I discussed, I'm in at a point in my life where hook-ups are not what I want and I'm more interested in a boyfriend (with potential to be a husband...YIKES!). But, I am not at the stage of actively seeking a husband...confusing, right? After cocktails, we went to our favorite pub. I was standing @ the bar and this nasty drunk was like what's your name...of course I give him my pseudo-name, where I'm from, etc. He was like can I buy you a drink. And I said, well if you buy me a drink you need to buy my friend a drink as well. He couldn't grasp what I was saying (he was drunk) but finally bought both of us our drinks. Seriously, I'm not going to refuse a drink. So, of course he thinks that's an invitation for him to be allowed to sit with us.
As we were sitting, he was trying to explain something or other and I was very rude to him. Finally, I was like I'm bored with this, lets talk politics (Aimee and I are from different political sides so it's always interesting). The guy got up and with that Aimee and I dashed out the bar and caught a cab (bitches, right?) . That pretty much ended our night....
Now, I'm off to work and possibly Venitian nights.

What a Night...

On Sunday, I worked noon-6pm. I then did a little shopping and proceeded to head home around 8. When I walked in, the neighbors below informed me that our electricity was out and had been out since 6pm! AAAAHHHH! This is the 2nd time this summer that our power had gone out. One could say I was slightly annoyed by this. I decided to walk to Panini Panini and grab dinner and read some Jane Austin while I waited for the power to come back.
About 1030, I proceeded to walk home only to find out that the power still was not on!!! How annoying. So, I called Andre, thinking he'd be a good friend, to see if I could stay there for the night. His place is only a couple of blocks away and very convient for this. I got no response from him so I called Tom who let me stay at his place.
The next day, we trucked it back to my place thinking the power would be restored. Of course it wasn't! We traveled out to Ikea via the senic route. After Ikea, we made our way out to Highland Park to his shop and hung out there for awhile. It was very worthwhile because I got these incredible Montrail sandals!
About 6 we decided to grab dinner in Evanston before dropping me off. When I got home I figured everything was ruined in the freezer so I elected to throw it all out. What an absolute waste!!!
Later that night, the neighbors came over and chilled for some time. It was fun; I'm really going to miss them when they move @ the end of this week. Hopefully the new people are chill like them.

Your Political Profile

Overall: 60% Conservative, 40% Liberal

Social Issues: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal

Personal Responsibility: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal

Fiscal Issues: 100% Conservative, 0% Liberal

Ethics: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal

Defense and Crime: 100% Conservative, 0% Liberal

How Liberal / Conservative Are You?

see...i'm not as evil as some may think!!!! this definitely makes me happy

nostalgia

Sometimes I wish I was back in Ohio. I have amazing friends who I know will always be there when I need them. They will always be there to listen when I need to or they will be there to party when partying is much needed. Most of my family is also in Ohio. I miss being able to sit by my aunt's pool and talk to her for hours while sipping margaritas. Or, I miss running over to my other aunt's place to babysit for the two little ones and then afterward spending the night. I miss talking to Peggy and Dan (the aunt and uncle with the little ones) about my life ambitions and possible ways of achieving them. I hate the fact that I cannot run up the street to visit my grandma for what should only be 30 minutes and then turns out to be lunch out and a little shopping until dinner! As much as I say I don't want to move back to Cincinnati, sometimes I think it's the best option for me.
Then I realize if I move back to Cincinnati I did not really accomplish anything because there is nothing to conquer there. I don't believe I can learn any real life lessons in the city. I know I'm meant to live in a large city and be something.
My jobs here are good. I wish I could do the nanny thing full time...and it's not that the family wouldn't want it; it's that they don't offer insurance which I somewhat need. However, I do go f/t with the other job (boo) starting in August and will continue to nanny my 2 days off. So, yes, I will be working 7 days a week for at least the next month! My only break comes when I will be heading to Akron to see my best friend get married *GASP*!
Now about this marriage. I am very happy for the both of them, but I'm afraid this will be the end of an eight year friendship. I am friends with the groom and I do not know the proper etiquite about girl-boy friendships after marriage...so if anyone knows please clue me in!!!
I must admit, the best thing about being out of college is the amount of time I have for my own reading selection! While my interest for television is coming back, reading is my new past time (please leave some good titles I should check out).

what a day! i was at work from 11-4 and did nothing but paperwork! i get really aggrivated doing the same tedious thing over and over so i am looking for a new job. but, i like my boss so if i get something new it'll be hard to make the switch. i also started my new class today. ok, loyola really just pisses me off more and more every year. this class i'm taking probably has close to 60 or 70 kids in it and it's a 2 hour class. seriously its so damn hard to concentrate and secondly i can't see the board bc thre are too many damn kids in it. this school is making it harder and harder for me to want to donate money to it.

why am i doing this?

hello all...so one may ask why am i starting up this spot?
